The Heath Quartet has announced that it will be joining the agency Tashmina Artists for worldwide representation, excluding the United States. The group said on social media: 

’It is an absolutely honour to be part of such a spectacular and inspiring roster — we can’t wait for what’s ahead.’

The Heath Quartet was established at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music. In comprises violinists Maja Horvat and Sara Wolstenholme, violist Gary Pomeroy and cellist Christopher Murray.

In 2013, the group became the first ensemble in fifteen years to win the RPS Young Artists Award. In 2016 they won the Gramophone Chamber Award for their recording of the complete Tippett quartets and were featured performing the composer’s Second Quartet in the BBC programme ‘Classic Quartets’ at the BBC. Other accolades include first prize at the 2008 TROMP competition, and the 2012 Ensemble Prize at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Recent seasons have included a US tour, BBC Proms live broadcast, a long-running series with Wigmore Hall and a two-year residency at Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Saal. They have collaborated with, among others, Anastasia Kobekina, Robert Plane, Tom Poster, Matthias Schorn, Alice Neary, Hélène Clement and the Elias String Quartet.

The quartet’s members are staff at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama and in 2025 it became String Quartet in Residence at Middlesex University.
