This month’s competition results, appointments and forthcoming contests


At the Primrose International Viola Competition in Los Angeles, CA, US, 24-year-old American violist Natalie Loughran  took the $15,000 first prize, the prize for best performance of a work by a BIPOC composer, and the audience prize. She currently studies at the Juilliard School with Roger Tapping and Misha Amory. The $10,000 second prize was awarded to American Samuel Rosenthal, 21, while third prize and $5,000 went to US–Danish violist Nicholas Swensen, 22…
