Soon after graduating from the Newark School in 1988 I opened this shop in Tetbury, in the Cotswolds. It was once a wool town and this building probably started out as an 18th-century weaver’s cottage. Now the area is well known for its antique shops, which attract a lot of people – I’ve found that having 19th-century memorabilia such as music stands, canterburies and old-fashioned cases around the shop helps to bring in the customers…
