Sixty-five members of the Manchester-based Hallé orchestra will
perform for a new production of Bernstein's Wonderful
Town, forming what the show's producers are calling one of the
biggest orchestras ever used for a musical.
Mark Elder will conduct the orchestra for 16 performances at the
Lowry in Salford between 31 March and 14 April. A 17-piece band
will then take over and join the production for a UK tour.
