This month’s competition results, appointments and forthcoming contests

Competition results

Ukrainian violinist Dmytro Udovychenko, 23, took first prize and $50,000 at the Singapore International Violin Competition. He currently studies at the Kronberg Academy with Christian Tetzlaff. Second prize and $25,000 went to Danish violinist Anna Agafia Egholm, 26, while Hong Kong/Chinese violinist Angela Sin Ying Chan, 26, won third prize and $15,000. All three will also be loaned fine violins from the Rin collection.

Russian cellist Ivan Skanavi took the first prize and €15,000 at the Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann in November 2022. The 25-year-old also won the €3,000 special prize for best interpretation of the competition’s commissioned work. Second prize, worth €10,000, went to German cellist Christoph Heesch, 27, while Australian cellist Benett Tsai, 19, took the third prize and €5,000…
