Violinist Nicola Benedetti (pictured) is to be artist-in-residence at the 70th Cheltenham Music Festival, held 2-13 July 2014. She will feature in works including Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, Brahms’s First Piano Quartet, Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet, and violin sonatas by Mozart, Prokofiev and Elgar.

‘I am hugely looking forward to my residency in Cheltenham in July 2014,’ said Benedetti. ‘It will be a real pleasure to bring together different aspects of my musical life –  playing concertos, enjoying chamber music with friends, and working with young musicians – in one lovely place over a few days.’

Further highlights at the Gloucestershire festival include performances by guitarist Miloš, pianists Benjamin Grosvenor and Steven Osborne, the John Wilson Orchestra, and the Soweto String Ensemble.
