Cellist Yo-Yo Ma and pianist Emanuel Ax, who was born in Lviv, Ukraine, recorded and released this video to express their solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Together with violinist Leonidas Kavakos, they also opened their recent concerts for Washington Performing Arts at the Kennedy Center, New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Boston’s Symphony Hall with performances of Ukraine’s national anthem.
Ma was recently spotted outside the Russian embassy in Washington DC, performing solo Bach as a musical protest against the Russian invasion.
