The results of the competition’s four categories have been announced, with several tied results
The results of the Kreutzer International Music Competition have been announced. The competition included four categories: chamber music, violin Category A (maximum 12 years old), violin Category B (maximum 17 years old) and violin Category C (maximum 33 years old).
No first prize was awarded in the chamber music category. Instead, both Duo Kang and Duo Lynn-Gatti both received 2nd prize. Duo Komarovas won third prize.
In violin Category A, South Korean Jeongin Seo took home first prize and a bow worth €800. Second prize and a violin case worth €500 were awarded to American Florence Lau. Emanuel Akopian from the Netherlands received third prize and strings in the value of €300.
In violin Category B, Kai Gergov from Austria and Japan won the €1,000 first prize while Yeuk Fu Kate Lai from Hong Kong received second prize worth €700. Two third prizes were awarded: to Ukrainian Kornii Sheldunov and Chinese Wanran Zhang.
And in violin Category C, first prize and €1,500 were awarded to Yige Chen from China, the €1,000 second prize went to Sasha Parker from the United States and third prize and €600 were awarded to Jinyoung Yoon from South Korea.
The 2026 edition of the competition took place from 4 to 8 of August Ghent’s at MIRY Concert Hall and the Ghent Royal Conservatory.
The jury was co-chaired by Yuri Zhislin and Lisa Jacobs, and also comprised Wibert Aerts, Hrachya Avanesyan, Alessandro Cervino, Xiao Liu, David Makhmudov, Eric Sluys and Yi Zhong.
