The Tanglewood Music Festival cancelled the last concert of the season because of the approach of Hurricane Irene. Lorin Maazel had been due to conduct the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. According to the orchestra, it was the first time a concert had had to be cancelled in the BSO's 75-year history at Tanglewood.
