A new endpin designed to bring out the sounds of different materials

Tobias Krutz, designer of the new endpin from Turlunda, had two goals when creating the new product: ‘I wanted firstly to use wood for the screw, and also to make something that allows you to hear and feel more of the difference between endpin materials and therefore further improve the sound characteristics of cellos.’ The latter was achieved by designing an endpin with only one contact point instead of the usual two (at the screw and back). As for the wood, ‘this is purely aesthetic and means that you can match it to your other fittings.’…
