From afar, violinist Nemanja Radulović exudes a distinct aura of the flamboyant, risk-taking adventurer. This begins with his rock-star appearance, and continues with the bold freedom and high-stakes virtuosity of his violin-and-orchestra arrangements of works such as Bach’s Toccata in D minor for organ and Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations. On the other hand, a rather less rock ’n’ roll portrait is painted by those who know this Paris-based Serbian personally: one of a gentle, unflashy and loyal soul who is happiest when surrounded by those whom he has known for the longest time…
