The Armida Quartet won first prize in the string quartet
division of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. The
German ensemble received €24,000 and also won the audience prize.
The Novus Quartet from South Korea took second prize. Third prize
went to the Calidore Quartet from the US and Canada.
The Armida Quartet was founded in 2006 and shared first prize at
last year's Geneva International Music Competition.
