A music charity in London has launched a city-wide instrument
recycling campaign, called Lost and Sound.
London Music Masters (LMM), which provides music education to
children in inner-city primary schools, is calling for supporters
to donate any disused violins, cellos, trumpets, flutes and
clarinets.
The instruments will be loaned to children aged five to nine in
LMM's Bridge Project at three primary schools in Lambeth and
Westminster. Surplus instruments will be offered to local music
services, hubs and other music charities.
LMM hopes the Lost and Sound initiative will enable it to save
money on instrument purchase and hire, and focus its resources on
teaching.
