Anyone waiting to hear Osvaldo Golijov's already delayed Violin Concerto will have to wait another nine months. The concerto was originally due to be given its world premiere by Leonidas Kavakos and the Los Angeles Philharmonic last May. But when the Argentine composer didn't finish the piece on time, the premiere was rescheduled for this April, with Kavakos teaming up with the Berlin Philharmonic. Now that performance too has been cancelled, and Kavakos will play the Korngold Concerto in Berlin instead.

The honour of the world premiere now falls to the London Symphony Orchestra, the third of the concerto's co-commissioners, with Kavakos set to finally perform the work on the Barbican stage on 25 November 2012.
