Cellist Kate Ellis is dedicated to the creation and exploration of new and traditional music, with collaboration at the heart of that creation.

Kate is Artistic Director of Crash Ensemble, Ireland’s leading contemporary music ensemble, cellist with Martin Hayes’ Common Ground Ensemble and is often seen playing with the musicians of Ye Vagabonds, Yurodny, and Fovea Hex.

Kate has a writing partnership with UK based artist Laura Cannell.
