German-born Joachim Roewer leads the viola section of the Irish Chamber Orchestra. He is a passionate teacher and a busy chamber music player. He is a member of the Esposito String Quartet and was frequently invited to perform with the Vogler Quartet, the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet and the Contempo Quartet.

For 13 years he was Course Director of the annual international ConCorda Chamber Music Course for Strings.
