'You know how it is seeing yourself in the mirror - well this is worse!' - Joshua Bell

US violinist Joshua Bell teamed with Sony Interactive Entertainment to launch the Joshua Bell VR Experience this week.

The artist recorded Brahms's Hungarian Dance no.1 with pianist Sam Haywood at Air Studios in London back in July 2015. The performance was captured in 3D 4K resolution by multiple cameras using position tracking, enabling viewers - who wear a PlayStation VR headset - to move around the virtual recording space without distortion.

'If we do it correctly, you won't notice the complexity going on underneath - it will just look like a slice of reality,' said Ian Bickerstaff, technical director, Immersive Tech Group.
