The Van Baerle Trio from the Netherlands won first prize at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition, which this year was for piano trios. The ensemble, comprising violinist Maria Milstein, cellist Gideon den Herder and pianist Hannes Minnaar, received €10,000 as well as three other prizes. Trio Rafale, from Switzerland, took second prize. Trio Arcadis, from France, was third.
