It's not only musicians and violin makers who can get excited by the Ole Bull 200th-anniversary celebrations this year. Children have a chance to discover the great Norwegian violinist in Oliver and the Magic Violin, a new fantasy adventure book published at Xlibris.com. The hero of the story, nine-year-old Oliver, is magically united with his great-great grandfather Ole Bull, and together they set out to recover Bull's enchanted violin from an evil thief. The book's author, Peggy Smith, lives in Vermont and has a family connection to Ole Bull: she is married to the violinist's great grandson.
