Competition results

Italian cellist Ettore Pagano, 23, has been awarded the first prize at the Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition in Brussels, Belgium, receiving €25,000 and a four-year loan of the 1733 ‘Casals’ cello by Matteo Gofriller. The €20,000 second prize went to Korean cellist Tae-Yeon Kim, 20, and the €17,000 third prize to US–Canadian cellist Leland Ko, 28. See next issue for a full report…
