Recipient of the Avery Fisher career grant, double bassist DaXun Zhang is the winner of the International Society of Bassists Solo Competition and the Young Concert Artist International Audition. He has performed concertos, recitals and chamber music concerts throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Zhang has toured with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble and performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. He has recorded with Sony Classical, Deutsche Grammophon and Universal Music. Zhang previously served on the faculty of Northwestern University and the University of Texas at Austin.
