Born in Shanghai, Jiang Xinlai has been assistant principal double bassist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra for over 20 years.

She studied at the New England Conservatory with Lawrence Wolfe and at the Juilliard School with Orin O’Brien, toured Japan with the Pacific Music Festival in 1995 and has been a fellow of the Tanglewood Music Center and the National Orchestra Institute.
