This video comes from Spanish newspaper La Vox de Galicia, based in A Coruña, which reported the story of cellist Vladimir von Litvikh.

Born in Saint Petersburg in 1967, he joined the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia when it was founded in 1992 and remained in post until he was forced to have a leg amputed last year due to a circulatory condition.

He busks to supplement his disability allowance but also to keep in touch with his instrument and public performance. ‘In a situation like mine,’ he tells La Vox, ‘it’s easy to give up. But I have decided that that does not interest me. You have to be strong and carry on. Life takes many turns.’
