Swiss cellist Thomas Demenga’s teachers included Leonard Rose and Mstislav Rostropovich at the Juilliard School, and he received chamber music coaching from Felix Galimir.

As a soloist he has performed and recorded widely, with a focus on contemporary music.

He has taught at the Basel Academy since 1980 and is the artistic director of Camerata Zurich.
