In tribute to the sad death of Alan Rickman at the age of 69, here's a clip from the 1990 film Truly, Madly, Deeply in which the actor 'plays' solo Bach on the cello in the opening credits (from 3.15). In the film Rickman plays the ghost of a dead musician alongside Juliet Stevenson's grieving character.
Rickman took cello lessons in order to perform the part. In this scene he handles the bowing hand himself, while a professional cellist provides the left hand fingerwork - standing behind Rickman with his arm through the actor's arm pit.
