Violinists Alexander Sitkovetsky and Sergey Malov have been appointed to the string faculty of Zurich University of the Arts. The two musicians will join fellow professors Nora Chastain, Rudolf Koelman, Ilya Gringolts and Andreas Janke from September 2017.

A graduate of the Yehudi Menuhin School, Russian-born Alexander Sitkovetsky is currently a violin professor at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. A prolific soloist and recording artist, he is also a founding member of the Sitkovetsky Piano Trio.

Sergey Malov studied violin and viola at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Thomas Riebl and Antje Weithaas. He has won multiple contests, including the 2011 Michael Hill International Violin Competition and the 2010 Tokyo International Viola Competition. In 2014 Malov was appointed a professor at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts.
