The Australian Chamber Orchestra is teaming with worldwide music streaming service Spotify to release six concert recordings during 2015. ACO Sessions on Spotify have been selected from the orchestra’s catalogue of live performances, and include works by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Barber, Haydn, Mozart and Sibelius.

The ACO, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, is the first orchestra to partner with Spotify to release exclusive concert recordings, following such rock and pop acts as Kylie Minogue and Franz Ferdinand. The first ACO Session is released today – Brahms’s Symphony no.4.

‘A big part of the ACO mission is to innovate and reach new audiences with the help of great collaborators – and it’s easy to see the unique impact that Spotify has made on the way we research, share and enjoy music,’ said artistic director Richard Tognetti (pictured). ‘We’re excited to be working with Spotify to bring these live recordings out of the archive and back into the ears of listeners.’
