The 28-year-old takes up the position in March 2015
American violinist David Radzynski has been named the new concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The 28-year-old was one of 30 violinists invited to compete for the position in December and won the role following a performance of Brahms’s Violin Concerto with the orchestra conducted by music director Zubin Mehta. He takes up the position in March.
A graduate of Yale School of Music, Radzynski is currently studying for an artist diploma in violin performance at Park University, Missouri. He is a former winner at the American String Teachers’ Association Concerto Competition.
‘I am still trying to digest all that is happening. It is such an incredible honour,’ he said.
